OpenAI has recently launched GPTs along with its GPT store, adding to OpenAI's vast expanse of products. In a nutshell, GPTs allows anyone(with a ChatGPT Plus account) to customise their own versions of ChatGPT - no coding skills required!

Now what does this mean for developers?

Essentially, with the additional launch of the GPTs store, anyone can create specialised versions of ChatGPT and share it with everyone else in the community to use, effectively bridging the community and enticing new users to subscribe to OpenAI's ChatGPT Plus. However, with more users transitioning into ChatGPT Plus Account subscribers, less users would be willing to pay to use your app, and that is a potential problem for you as a developer.

So what now?

No, OpenAI is not going to release an API for GPTs...😂 Why would they when they stand to earn more from new subscribers joining their community and subscribing to Plus Account?
